Employee monitoring has become an increasingly important issue for many organisations, encompassing practices such as workplace surveillance cameras, monitoring of e-mails and IT usage, geolocation and the use of artificial intelligence tools outside official channels (often referred to as “shadow AI”).
As these practices continue to expand, their legal implications remain insufficiently understood by employers and employees alike.
